Despair, Inc. presents: THE UNFORESEEN – a New Documentary
AN ASTONISHING NEW DOCUMENTARY. FROM LAURA DUNN, A FRIEND OF DESPAIR.
Yes, you read it right.
Despair, Inc. — the occasionally-lovable-but-mostly-irritating-rogues-who-constantly-
pepper-your-in-box-with-advertisements-and-promotions-for-a-truly-dazzling-array-
of-crap-you-absolutely-do-not-need-and-very-probably-should-not-buy – helped to produce a critically-acclaimed, stunningly beautiful new documentary by longtime company friend and collaborator Laura Dunn. And now that the film is beginning a limited-theatrical run, we’d like to encourage you to see it – if/when it opens in your town.
“What is it about?”, you ask, already skeptical.
“Okay, nice trailer. But is it any good?”
Don’t ask me- you already know I’m paid to con you into giving money to my employer. Ask the Critics instead.
“Alright, so the critics seem to think it’s pretty good. But I still don’t get it. What does it have to do with Despair?”
Did you WATCH the trailer? It’s a documentary. About the ruination of a once high-flying entrepreneur. About real estate bubbles and their subsequent collapses. And greed, bank failures, urban sprawl, environmentalists, lobbyists, and a bazillion other subjects that couldn’t be more relevant or timely.
“Is it funny?”
Uh, no. But it’s beautiful, tragic, and smarter than 95% of what the entertainment industry produces- as is the Despair tradition.
“So if I go see it, and I don’t like it, will Despair give me a refund?”
What is the matter with you? I’m trying to nourish your impoverished soul here, and you are trying to haggle with me! IF YOU LIVE IN NEW YORK, GO SEE IT TONIGHT. BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW! (And if you don’t live in New York, keep your eyes on the Screenings page to see when it’s coming to a town near you.)
